Ryan Thompson currently lives and works in Western New York State where he is Assistant Professor of Digital Media and Photography at Houghton College. His work points to both the mundane and the significant as it engages the complex and often strange relationships produced in collaboration with natural phenomena.
Recent projects include "Dark Flight" at DIG, Chicago; “Glacial Erratic Monuments: Geneva” for the exhibition PUBLIC THINGS at Galerie Analix Forever, Geneva, Switzerland; and Burden of Proof: Forest & Sea at “Smoke & Mirrors,” Lightwell Gallery, University of Oklahoma. "Burden of Proof" and "Glacial Erratic Monuments" were recently included in the book Reframing Photography, by Rebekah Modrak and Bill Anthes, published by Routledge and online at reframingphotography.com.
